Ridiculous Eyewear

This weekend presented the opportunity for many people to sport absurd eyewear, especially at Rob’s pool par-tay. Adam in my froggie goggles: Kalli in Erin’s fancy sunglasses: Me in my new sunglasses, inspired by Erin’s uber-style: So hawt am I! I have to admit, I love the new trend of ridiculously large sunglasses.

I Believe I can Fly

I went on a site visit to Wilmington yesterday with my boss. We took his plane; it’s so much easier than driving , especially with biker week in full swing. Flying in a small plane is much different than a big plane. It’s more like having a car in the sky…with 2000+ feet between you & the road. It was […]

Happy Birthday Rob!

Ok everyone, today is Rob’s 27th Birthday! Let’s all join together: Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Ro-ob; Happy Birthday to you! (and many more…) Woo-hooo!

I PASSED!: The Ending

I just received notification that I passed the Multiple Choice sections of the LARE exam! That means I’m all done. I passed all of it on my first try. Yay! I honestly didn’t think I would be able to do it! Woo-hooo! Now, I just have to go through the formality of getting my license. Please, SC Department of Natural […]

My New Digs!

Woo-hooo! I’ve moved to Little River, SC. Pictures of my new digs (Bedroom & Living Room – Notice Trixie in the Bedroom Window): I will post more pictures as I get the rooms more decent.

Bye Bye Winter Blahs

Well, it’s Spring Break at the Beach. What does that entail? 1) The beginning of the tourist infiltration. They take over our roads, restaurants, parks, shops…This is the time of year when the locals learn to be very patient & eat out very late (or very early). 2) Bathing suits. I don’t really want to go buy a bathing suit […]

Coveting Shoes & Avoiding the LARE

I’m taking the 2nd part of my professional licensure exam on Wednesday & Thurday (4/5-6), but I don’t want to talk about that anymore than I want to continue reading on the subjects being tested. Let’s just say it’s all boring–the legal & construction things of landscape architecture. When I’m reading the material, I have to periodically check my pulse […]

Pee Dee Street Rodder’s Run to the Sun XVIII

This past weekend, I visited the Pee Dee Street Rodders 18th Annual Run to the Sun at the Waccamaw Factory Shoppes with Rob. We were there very early (8 am!!) to enjoy all of the tricked-out classic cars from pre-1989. I really wish I had kept my 1984 Peugeot. It would have looked great at this show. Especially with some […]

6 Weeks to Suzanne 3.0

I’ve been an avid gold gym’s member for about 11 months now; I go at least 3 times a week (but more usually 4-5 times) for cardio & strength training. My routine has varied very little over this period of time; I do 45 minutes of cardio & some abs each day followed by strength training–1 day of biceps & […]

Intuition

I’ve been having dreams about pregnancy lately (I’m NOT pregnant). I don’t think they refer to a deep desire to be pregnant or my ticking biological clock; the time for babies is still far, far away for me. I’ve done a bit of research on the significance of pregnancy in dreams, and it seems that pregnancy dreams are generally very […]

Landscape Architects…in the Movies

Architecture–it’s a favorite profession of film protagonists. From Charles Bronson in Death Wish (and the sequels), Richard Gere in Intersection, Woody Harrelson in Indecent Proposal, Tom Hanks in Sleepless in Seattle, & Michael Keaton in White Noise (to name a few), the character of the architect shows up again and again in movies. To Hollywood, the noble profession of architecture […]

I PASSED!!!!!

It’s taking tremendous self-restraint right now to not jump out of my chair & run around my office. I PASSED BOTH OF THE HARDEST SECTIONS OF THE LARE EXAM. (It’s a Pass/Fail Exam.) I’m so excited!!!! The thought of not having to sit through that test again makes me the happiest girl in Myrtle Beach right now. Congratulations to me; […]

Beach Snow

Nevermind that it won’t accumulate! Today, for the first time in the 2+ years I have lived here, we had snow. It’s so rare to see the white stuff here. It’s been sooo warm here lately; last week, I didn’t even wear my winter coat. Yay!
